The Dominican Republic has been awarded the 2009 Golf Destination of the year for Latin America and the Caribbean by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators.
The IAGTO Awards are the official annual awards for the golf tourism industry and were held recently in Spain. IAGTO is the global trade organisation for the golf tourism industry, comprising more than 1130 companies in 74 countries, including over 330 specialist golf tour operators in 46 countries. Punta Espada named best Caribbean golf course

Golfweek magazine has named the Punta Espada golf course number one of the top 50 courses in the Caribbean and Mexico.
Golfweek rated the top 50 courses in the Caribbean and Mexico and two Punta Cana courses made the top 50. Punta Espada garnered the top spot and the new Faldo Legacy course at Roko Ki came in at # 20. Read More→
