Faldo Legacy Course at Roko Ki Opens
ByThe Faldo Legacy Course at Roko Ki officially opens for play December 16, 2008. Designed by Golf Hall of Fame member Nick Faldo, it is the first of three planned courses for the Roko Ki development. The course is located at Macao beach in the Punta Cana Region. It is a public course which also offers membership.
At 7,075 yards long from the professional tees, the 18 hole, par 72 course is one of the longest in the Caribbean. The course begins in a lush mangrove forest crossing four lakes before winding uphill into the highlands where holes 17 and 18 straddle the rugged shoreline.
Hole 17 is called El Caiman (the crocodile) and during January and March it is a great spot to watch the migrating humpback whales from the oceanside fairways. Hole 18 is known as Dos Revos (two prayers) because the par 5 requires two carries over the ocean to get to the green.
The course is managed by Troon Golf, the world’s leading luxury-brand golf management company.
